EXHIBITION | 6 FEET
Our team was inspired by the #AloneTogether by Hyperakt. During the pandemic, there were a lot of restrictions with people being together. Furthermore, mental health, especially depressive disorder, has increased quickly and become a noteworthy issue all around the world. We wanted to create a project that shows social distancing and our concerns on mental health, and finally decided on creating an installation.
MIND MAP.

For our mind map, we started with the central idea of “individuality and society”, and branched off to different ideas including mental wellness, traveling, interpersonal connection and more. After brainstorming over various topics, we decided to aim at the physical and mental distancing among humans.
INSTALLATION DETAILS — SOCIAL DISTANCING FLOOR.
We chose to set up a ground visual by vinyl in different colors. 6 concentric circles made by circles and half circles are corresponding with the safe social distance — 6 feet — and are aligned around the installation. They would naturally lead the audience to walk in and explore every part of the system (It also extends to the classroom where we are located as a small bonus!) as well as remind the audience to keep a safe social distance. Vinyls are chosen based on our color palettes, and we use holographic laser vinyls to connect each of the spots and extend to both sides of the hallway.

INSTALLATION DETAILS — APARTMENTS WALL.
A poster created with a crowded apartment complex and a layer outlined apartments. I wanted to show how social distancing can be very hard for some people. With tiny apartments that are crammed together. On top of the poster, I added small human figures and covered them with a clear half sphere to show the hardness of isolation for these people. With the amount of people and cover, it shows the idea of suffocation which relates straight to the isolation curtain that surrounds the walls.
Underneath the walls, there is a chair covered with a plastic bag. The chair is in correlation with the isolation curtain to show an individual sitting there to be isolated. On the plastic chair cover, there are small figures to show that even when you are being isolated, you are not exactly alone, there are thousands of people doing the same thing. You are alone, but you are together.

INSTALLATION DETAILS — ISOLATION CURTAIN.
We decided to utilize bath curtains to create a space that mockup the feeling of isolation and quarantine. For emphasizing the pain of quarantine and feeling of suffocation we use vacuum packagings to present the idea. The details inside the vacuum packaging include masks (represent social distancing), syringes (represent vaccine), hand-sanitizer (represent health), Band-Aid (represent heal), and flowers (represent hope and future) .

INSTALLATION DETAILS — ISOLATION CURTAIN.

Based on our research and questionnaire about audience's experience during the pandemic, we designed a large-scale poster as our most distinctive visual representation. We arranged the responses from our interviewees all around the posters, showing their various attitudes, no matter positive or negative, towards the pandemic and the consequent quarantine.
EXHIBITION TOUR.
BOOK | TO REPAIR TOGETHER.
The book is about the life we experienced during the pandemic, and the action we should take to recover from the dark time. The book is developed and designed based on the words "to repair". From the paper texture, the cracks, the text, and the graphics, the designer successfully shows the action of repair throughout the book.
